The Training and Rural Development site tries to give an account of the training activities carried out in the rural sector in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as of the programmes and projects related to the economic and social development of rural populations.

The role that regional rural training institutions are called to play goes way beyond mere technical training for working in the rural environment. It also includes, for example, the actions concerned with rural population's effective exercise of their citizenship, health care of rural male and female workers, and the environment, research and technological development care to be incorporated in production activities, among others.
Rural training institutions have, in sum, a strategic role to play in the economic and social development of rural areas and countries in general. More >>
