The current English version of the Modular Package is the outcome of
collective and multi-disciplinary efforts of ILO experts from Headquarters
and the field. It draws from experiences of the past decade, both of
the ILO and other development organizations.
Overview
The Modular Package on Gender, Poverty and Employment is the primary
tool of the Capacity-building Programme on Gender Equality, Employment
Promotion and Poverty Eradication (GPE Programme) for raising awareness,
training, and promoting the exchange of views and building social consensus.
Nine thematic modules
The Modular Package brings together the issues, strategies, and experiences
in poverty eradication one gender-based framework. It consists of nine
thematic modules:

Module 2 Organizational and negotiating power: Ability to initiate change
Module 3 Access to assets
Module 4 Financial resources for the poor: Focus on credit
Module 5 Investing in human capital: Focus on training
Module 6 Expanding wage employment

Module 9 Future challenges and agenda for action

The Modular Package was designed to be
- flexible, to be used in various combinations of modules suitable
to different target audiences and training objectives

issues, concerns and experiences
- evolving, to be updated to reflect emerging needs and trends
- meet multiple needs, such as awareness-raising, training,
information sharing, social dialogue
Components
The Modular Package is available in two parts:
- Facilitator's Kit - relevant for those organizing and facilitating
awareness-raising, training and information-sharing activities; in
addition to the Reader's Kit, includes a facilitator's guide with
pedagogical tools, and suggested transparencies and training strategies.
- Reader's Kit, relevant for those participating in the awareness-raising
and activities or those wishing to learn more about the subject matter
on their own; includes a reader's guide, nine thematic modules, bibliographies
and a CD-ROM.
