About this site

  

This site seeks to expose and reflect about the mainstreaming of the gender perspective on training and work. The dissemination of experiences, information, reflection on successful practices and difficulties will be the result of a collective effort to improve female personal and vocational development and job opportunities. The site also intents to generate synergy, coordination and cooperation at the regional and international level among those -countries and institutions- who are committed to the promotion of equal opportunities in employment and education and to the construction of more integrated and fare societies. The XXI century starts with serious and urgent problems related to social justice and labour justice that need to avoid isolated solutions. It is therefore necessary to learn from the experiences of others and apply and adapt strategies and programmes that already work in other contexts. This site will make possible the exchange of ideas, opinions and practices.

This subsite is developed with the support of Cinterfor and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).

This site has been created to share everything which has been learned and achieved about this topics with the purpose of going ahead and be able to share and construct knowledge. To be able to fulfil this purpose, this section has been structured in the following way: - a synthetic presentation of the
subject / area of the problem
- Toolbox: specially created to examine thoroughly in the development and also to share the products and the obtained results. It is organized in: conceptual and methodological materials, didactic developments, strategies and applied experiences, achievements, impacts and learnings.

- Regional Programme Formujer 
disseminates documents, activities and learning experiences of the Regional Programme for the strengthening of the vocational and technical training of low income women in Latin America.

- Proimujer Programme Uruguay
This is a pilot proactive experience for women with the objective of contributing to equal opportunities in vocational training, to improve employability and enhance opportunities to entry into working life and assess social and personal development

-Equal opportunities
Puts together resources and strategies proposed by international organizations, specially the ILO, to promote and guarantee equal employment opportunities and equal vocational training opportunities.

- Agenda issues
Proposes to share and exchange information on the main issues concerning women, training and work in the region and the world

- Youth and gender
Analyzes youth from a gender perspective. Presents documents and other materials.

- Managing equity
Equity requires the commitment and systematic action of all the actors involved, particularly workers’ organizations and employers’ organizations. This page intends by the presentation of programmes and experiences to strengthen and support trade unions and enterprises in the design and implementation of equal opportunities policies in the world of work and training.

This page puts together publications and materials necessary for the design and execution of training and work policies for women.

- Links
The objective of equal opportunities at work and training requires the intervention of multiple actors and agencies and also collective thought. Therefore, links to sites that work in the same direction will be provided.
