Policy, Practice and Partnership: Getting to Work on Lifelong Learning
Conference Summary Report *

The summary report of Cedefop's June 2003 lifelong learning conference has now been published and copies are available free of charge via info@cedefop.eu.int (Cedefop publication stock number 4033 EN). Translations into French and German will be available in due course.

This summary report presents the main issues and outcomes of the conference and sets these into the flow of current policy development at European level.

This report is also available for free downloading in pdf-format from the European Training Village (ETV) at: www.trainingvillage.gr, where you will similarly find pdf versions of the full-length conference proceedings and the initial
report on the 2003 Lifelong Learning Eurobarometer results (Lifelong Learning - Citizens' views, in EN, DE and FR; Cedefop publication stock number 4025).

The Council and Commission 2004 Joint Interim Report Education and Training 2010 argues that implementing lifelong learning is a priority area for immediate action: "There is a need for coherent and comprehensive national lifelong learning strategies. . Nearly 20% of young people fail to acquire key competences. . Too few adults participate in lifelong learning."
